A lithograph from one of Nolan s most important series, Leda and the Swan, inspired by the ancient Greek myth in which Zeus visits Leda, the Queen of the Spartans, in the guise of a swan.

Following their amorous encounter Leda produces an egg from which Helen of Troy is born.
